Time to rant
True empowerment comes from within each woman
I’ve been talking a lot about empowerment and how it can feel disempowering when it’s used out of context for women.
After 14 years of working with women professionally, I can say that all women are naturally powerful. They don’t need anyone to put the power inside them. They don’t need permission to be who they are. They give themselves permission to feel and show their power.
Women do however need supportive and safe spaces to re-connect to their power, especially after decades of de-centering and diminishing behaviours - starting young with people-pleasing and “good girl” conditioning.
As an empowerment queen who’s been empowering women for as long as I can remember even at school! I refuse to let go of something that is so vitally important for women. And it really annoys me when I see companies using the word empowerment as a sales tool because the word has become another over used buzz word - much like authenticity.
If you genuinely empower women, use away but if this is fakery then back away…
Genuine empowerment is like the hummingbird’s wings that can be felt in the chest when a woman remembers who she is.
When a woman feels empowered, the ripple effect is beyond reach. For me, empowerment is knowing that when we are in the eye of any storm, when our nervous system is collapsing into panic, we know what to do.
It’s not about not feeling anxious, fearful, uncertain - it’s more about saying:
“Welcome. What do I need to know in this moment?”
Then I carefully begin to realign, using EFT-based tapping to help my body and mind sync back up. When I’m fully back in my power, I choose what’s next. This can work in five seconds because my body knows what to do. This is empowerment and it’s part of my toolkit. It’s work I love to share with women because it really makes a difference.
Because we can’t choose a different path, response, action, or belief if we’re deregulated.
When you’re in immediate danger:
Listen to your body. Welcome the feeling. Get clear on the message. Regulate. Choose.
When danger is present:
Listen to your body. Quickly regulate. Respond.
Empowerment isn’t a badge someone hands you. It’s the moment you remember you already hold the power and you have a simple, repeatable way to come back to it, even in the storm.
If you’re ready to stop apologising for your power and start leading from it, this is your invitation.
