We need to do better

This needs to be said. The menopause industry is doing a great job of raising awareness of symptoms BUT it’s failing to talk about the deeper meanings.

That the mission is to get back to normal and push through, not complain and hold it all while smiling!

We’ve gone from we don’t talk about it to we remove stigma and shame and we talk about it. A lot of great foundational work has been done and we have a lot more to do.

Now we need to evolve further because there is too much fear surrounding what is a natural life phase for every woman and I worry that women will not get the right support.

There is a huge job to do to educate on the benefits and advantages of what women bring and add in each stage. How women hold relational wisdom, creativity, deep knowledge, communicational power and so much more.

  • Imagine a world that saw perimenopause as an advantage because it meant that women stopped doing the jobs of four people? If this feels like an issue for you, take this as a signal that a reframe is needed.

  • Where all her work was acknowledged and paid for accordingly?

  • Where women started saying exactly what they really meant and focused on their vision - one that included her own health and happiness?

  • Where women found their true power and voices?

  • Where they owned their power and wisdom

  • Where they stopped apologising for being brilliant? Where they took rest and returned clearer?

We are losing brilliant women from jobs because these phases are mistreated and the bigger picture isn’t being told. And the worst thing about this is that women blame themselves for “failing” in spaces not built for them.

And the impact is catastrophic - directly impacting teams, future talent and the business.

Women are the wellbeing specialists, the wise and intuitive ones - we are being brainwashed to think the robots can do the work but they can’t. I’ve realised that the impact of AI is burnout. It actually takes longer to do simple tasks well.

So if you’re ready to go deeper, I’m here for you.

Please like, comment and share this blog so that more women get to see that this is a journey, not a quick fix.

Because when women claim their truth, there will be a shift. And when businesses see the bigger picture, work will feel very different.
