Future proofing leadership for volatile times
Left to right: Emma Streets and Karen Heras-Kelly launch their ‘Equipped’ programme in Leeds
Politics is hitting leaders hard with “political depression” surging amid Trump-era turmoil. The Guardian reports therapists overwhelmed and UK stress costing 22.1 million lost working days last year alone.
Many of the challenges we face from pandemics to global instability and cyber threats are forms of collective trauma.
As we saw during the Covid pandemic, mental health became a key concern, we are now facing more challenges to our safety than ever before and this is impacting how leaders feel, their health and the quality of their decisions.
There is something you can do about it.
It’s time to face the elephant in the room, rather than ignore. The last few years have shown how urgently we need leaders who can think clearly under pressure, without losing their humanity.
Our new partnership with crisis management specialist Emma Streets has been designed to support companies through any crisis. Our training blends trauma-informed coaching with crisis strategy, equipping Yorkshire businesses to spot workplace trauma, communicate with compassion, and build unbreakable cultures.
We have joined forces to launch an innovative training programme designed to help organisations across Yorkshire respond more effectively to crisis, trauma, and uncertainty.
The collaboration merges two critical perspectives that every modern business now needs:
• The inward lens focusing on trauma-informed leadership, emotional intelligence, nervous system support and the human impact of uncertainty.
• The outward lens bringing expertise in crisis readiness, communication, and reputation management.
Leaders are carrying extraordinary levels of pressure right now. By understanding how trauma shows up at work and within, we can move from reactivity to resilience. This training is about giving leaders the tools to remain grounded and compassionate, even in crisis.
Our Equipped programme helps organisations manage both the practical and the human sides of crisis, so they can protect people and reputation simultaneously.
Our approach emphasises connection, care, and communication: the qualities that define resilient businesses in an age of volatility.
The new training will equip leaders and teams to:
• Recognise and respond to trauma in the workplace and recognise the signs of leaders who are near or at breaking point.
• Communicate clearly and sensitively during crises.
• Build cultures grounded in empathy, awareness, and readiness.
